Updates and Something Called a 'Patreon'
Hello everyone who are reading these words. I decided on a whim to visit my site here and things have gotten a bit dusty. I'll clean up, but until then I thought I'd drop a few more updates on you.
Firstly, and most uncomfortably, I have been convinced to try out a Patreon page. If you don't know what this is, I didn't either until this morning so don't feel too bad about yourself. The internet is a vast and confusing place. Basically it's a site that reinvents the idea of patrons and/or benefactors. So you can be my benefactor and donate some money towards my artistic endeavors if you see it as appropriate. While money always feels pretty icky to me, probably why I have so little of it, I've been told this is a legit way for fans of work to support said work. So if that interests you, the link is right here. I'm also working on some "rewards" for people who give money so they get their dollar(s) worth.
Don't worry, if you don't throw money at me I will still like you.
Okay, secondly I have all kinds of good news. The Stylist is still working its way all over the world and promises to show up at many more cool festivals in the coming months. Jill tells me that the Stylist tour is posted and updated on her site with regularity so take a look and see when it's coming to you. If, by chance, you live in the general Kansas City, MO area you can also see the Stylist and meet/hang out with me. I'll put the specific ticket link right....here.
There are a few other exciting screenplay projects that are also on the horizon but I can't tell you what they are. The way it all works is if I say anything out loud the project disappears. It's called the Movie Biz Jinx. The trick is I have to say "exciting things are happening" all vague-like or they will never happen. As soon as you say anything with authority it dies a slow creative death. I don't make the rules here, just the way it is.
Finally, to the book. I am making slow progress on Souls. There is a new major character, another major arc and other improvements. I have to keep this vague as well or I might write myself in a corner. Ya know, like I did with the experiment. Maybe one of the rewards of the Patreon page will be an early release of Souls. I just thought of that now. We'll see.
Anyway, sorry about the mess around here. I'll try to visit and clean regularly. All the best to all of you and I'll keep in touch.
