From the Author: Today is the Day

Today is the day.

After fumbling through a dark narrative room, hitting my shins on story questions and character motivations, today is the day I found the light switch. 

Just like that.

For me, writing is the strangest thing, it never feels cumulative or evolutionary. Every day feels like a battle, one in which you don't really know what's going on but you're trying your damnedest to not lose ground. You throw everything out there, you see what sticks, you see what falls. None of it feels like you are building anything. Until one day you look upon it and you see it, there's a structure there and you've been building it the entire time. 

Today is the day I see the structure, and now I have the blueprints.

So now, instead of worrying if I'm gonna fall on my face in front of all of you lovely people, I am just plain excited to show you what I've been building.

That's not to say I have every word formulated, far from it. But I know where these characters have been leading us and I, for one, am pretty excited about it.
